DSV has announced plans to expand to Central America starting with a new company in Costa Rica. The company will focus on air and sea freight forwarding services to and from Costa Rica and will be able to arrange regional road transportation within Central America through the group’s agents in the neighbouring countries.
Jens Bjørn Andersen, DSV’s CEO said, “Central America was one of the last blank spots in the DSV network. Comforted by the success of our expansion in South America in the past 3 years, we have decided to expand to that area starting with a new company in Costa Rica, which is one of the most developed and most stable economies in the region. San Jóse is also a regional hub for many multinationals who handle their Central American operations in Costa Rica. We are confident that we can be successful there and accompany our customers in their own expansion plans in Central America.”
DSV claims that Costa Rica has been a magnet for foreign investment in recent years, thanks to its stable government, its growing GDP per capita and its business-friendly policies.
