The Supervisory Board of Hapag-Lloyd AG has appointed Thorsten Haeser as an Executive Board member. Haeser will be in charge of Hapag-Lloyd’s global sales activities as Chief Commercial Officer.
At the time of the appointment Haeser was Managing Director of Versatel GmbH, a company owned by United Internet AG. Prior to that, he held various management positions at Sixt AG, Telefonica O2 and VIAG Interkom.
“In Thorsten Haeser we have acquired a proven sales expert with international experience for Hapag-Lloyd”, the Supervisory Board’s Chairman Michael Behrendt said about the appointment. “In particular he brings his extensive experience in establishing innovative sales concepts to the role.”
