Kuehne + Nagel further expands automotive business

Kuehne + Nagel has announced a new agreement with the BMW Group to handle their spare parts logistics at the Central Distribution Centre (CDC) in Bavaria, Germany. From this location BMW Group provides parts to its regional distribution centres worldwide, which in turn ensures delivery to local authorised BMW dealers in individual countries.

Kuehne + Nagel is expected to gradually take over operations at three CDC locations in Lower Bavaria effective November.

In addition to goods receiving activities, the control and packing of spare parts are included in the scope of service agreement. Furthermore, Kuehne + Nagel is also expected to be responsible for storage, commissioning and outgoing goods.

Jens Wollesen, member of the management board of the German Kuehne + Nagel organisation, responsible for Contract Logistics said, “For many years, Kuehne + Nagel has been a strong partner to the automotive industry. This new contract with BMW Group underlines our comprehensive expertise, especially within the complex area of spare parts logistics. We are very pleased to expand our partnership with BMW Group.”
