LLamasoft acquires Barloworld Supply Chain Software division

LLamasoft, a supply chain software solutions company, announced that it has acquired Barloworld Logistics’ Supply Chain Software (SCS) division, including all technology, software applications, and the Barloworld SCS team across Europe and the US.

LLamasoft and Barloworld Logistics have also announced the official launch of a major strategic partnering initiative, intended to bring LLamasoft’s cutting edge software and services to drive innovation and efficiencies through the supply chain operations of Barloworld Logistics’ customers worldwide.

LLamasoft states that the acquisition is part of its continued investment and growth in the supply chain design and planning software market. However, the acquisition does not cover Barloworld Logistics’ key territories of South Africa and the UAE, where the two companies will work in partnership.

Don Hicks, CEO and President of LLamasoft said, “We are thrilled to welcome the Barloworld SCS employees and customers to the LLamasoft community of supply chain design professionals.  We are also extremely excited about the advancements that Barloworld SCS has made in their supply chain planning applications, and we believe that our combined engineering talent can bring even more innovative solutions to the market in the coming months and years to come.”

Richard Forrest, CEO of the Barloworld Supply Chain Software division commented, “Joining LLamasoft provides exciting opportunities for both our customers and staff. We will form part of a larger supply chain design community driving innovation, deeper domain expertise and knowledge sharing across a variety of supply chain planning platforms.”
