Hapag-Lloyd has announced additions to the company’s Europe Australia Express service (EAX). As of December it is expected that the French ports Fos sur Mer and Pointe de Galets, Réunion, will be added to the EAX rotation on the Southbound leg. Furthermore, the Italian call on the Northbound leg is expected to be switched from Genoa to Salerno. The transit times of 30 to 36 days from Northern Europe to Australia are expected to remain unchanged. The new port rotation, as of ‘Box Emma’ due to sail from Tilbury on 11 December, is planned to be as follows: Tilbury – Hamburg – Rotterdam – Le Havre – Fos – Genoa – Damietta – (Suez Passage) – Pointe de Galets – Fremantle – Melbourne – Sydney – Adelaide – Singapore – Pt. Kelang – Chennai – Colombo – Cochin – (Suez Passage) – Damietta – Malta – Salerno – Tilbury.
