Amazon to Open Fulfilment Centre in Massachusetts, US


Amazon.com, Inc. announced plans to open a new 1m sq ft fulfilment centre in Fall River, Massachusetts. The facility is expected to employ 500 full-time staff.

Mike Roth, Amazon’s vice president of North America operations said, “Our footprint in Massachusetts continues to grow. We currently employ hundreds of developers, engineers, and scientists. Now we will add hundreds of additional full-time associates in our first fulfilment centre in the state.”

Amazon currently operates a sortation centre in Stoughton and also has research and technology offices throughout the state.

The more than a million-square-foot fulfilment centre is expected to be developed by the Trammell Crow Company.
