Pharmaceutical company Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD), has announced the extension of its Overland contract with Kuehne + Nagel in Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA) and North America for another two years.
Since 2012 MSD has used KN PharmaChain, a supply chain solution designed for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. Within the scope of the cooperation Kuehne + Nagel is expected to continue to manage Full-Truck-Load and Less-than-Truck- Load temperature-controlled services for pharmaceutical products across the EMEA region and within North America.
In addition, Kuehne + Nagel is to manage the transportation of palletised pharmaceuticals from MSD’s manufacturing sites in Europe and North America to the company’s global distribution centres. Here, MSD products are to be managed and controlled by a Kuehne + Nagel pharma team in an environment specially designed to meet the GXP (Good-x-Practice) guidelines.
