Following the decision of the governments of Hong Kong and Macao to extend the function of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) for the transport of goods, Bolloré Logistics has launched a direct ground delivery service to Macao for FTL and LTL shipments.
The HZMB is a 55 km bridge-tunnel system consisting of a series of three cable-stayed bridges, an undersea tunnel and four artificial islands. It is both the longest sea crossing and the longest open-sea fixed link in the world connecting Hong Kong and Macau with Zhuhai.
Bolloré Logistics is now well positioned to provide its customers with an improved, more direct and transparent delivery service between the two cities. Compared to the previous feeder vessel distribution model, this new service provides faster time to market, departure time flexibility and 24/7 customs clearance all year round in Macau.
As part of this new service, Bolloré Logistics Hong Kong has also expanded its fleet of electric vehicles for local deliveries, thereby reducing carbon emissions, and strengthening its commitment to the development of sustainable logistics solutions in Hong Kong and Macau.
Through this initiative, the company is contributing to Bolloré Logistics’ CSR program “Powering Sustainable Logistics”, taking another step in reducing its environmental footprint and preserving biodiversity, one of the 11 program commitments.
