CEVA to manage new medical devices logistics facility in Heerlen on behalf of Medtronic

Medical technology company Medtronic has commenced construction of a 33,000 sq m logistics facility in Heerlen, the Netherlands.

Once complete, CEVA will manage the storage and distribution of Medtronics’s medical devices, such as implantables, surgical instruments and patient monitoring systems. The site will enable Medtronic to reach over 15,000 hospitals in Europe within 24 hours.

Bart Beeks, Executive Vice President for CEVA Logistics in the Benelux, commented, “The new distribution centre will allow CEVA to provide Medtronic with world class logistics services both today and in the future and underscores our global expertise in the healthcare sector. We are extremely proud that a quality-focused company such as Medtronic considers us to be a partner, rather than a supplier.”

The site is expected to become operational in mid-2017.
