The German-Austrian Brummer Group is now entirely owned by DACHSER and has been incorporated into DACHSER’s European network for the transport and storage of temperature-controlled food. This marks the commencement of Brummer’s complete integration into the DACHSER network.
In April, aiming to expand its European food logistics network to include Austria and neighbouring countries, DACHSER declared its intention to acquire Brummer, a leading food logistics firm in Central Europe. With the approval from the German and Austrian competition authorities, the acquisition has been finalised, allowing the integration of Brummer into DACHSER’s network to commence. DACHSER has acquired Brummer Logistik GmbH in Germany and Brummer Logistic Solutions GmbH & Co KG in Austria, thereby taking over the entire operational logistics business of the Brummer Group.
As a comprehensive full-service logistics provider, Brummer specialises in transport, warehousing, and contract logistics services for food, including frozen goods below −18 degrees Celsius, in southern Germany and Austria. “Together with our recent acquisitions of Müller Fresh Food Logistics in the Netherlands and Frigoscandia in northern Europe, our acquisition of Brummer strengthens our position as a food logistics company in Europe,” states Burkhard Eling, DACHSER CEO.
“Completing this acquisition is a significant step for us and a milestone towards becoming the leading player in the European food logistics market. From now on, we will enhance our collaboration with Brummer to a new level. With Brummer, we have acquired a renowned food logistics company that shares our commitment to service and quality. However, the real work begins now, as we embark on the step-by-step integration into the DACHSER Food Logistics network” says Alexander Tonn, COO Road Logistics and Managing Director DACHSER Food Logistics.
