DACHSER expands Logistics Space in Leipzig-Halle

DACHSER

DACHSER is enhancing its operations in the Leipzig-Halle area by constructing a new warehouse. This facility, featuring approximately 25,000 pallet spaces, is expected to commence operations at the start of 2025.

Currently under construction in the Landsberg industrial park, the multi-user warehouse is adjacent to the DACHSER Logistics Centre Leipzig/Halle. Spanning a total area of 17,200 sq m, DACHSER will store a variety of industrial, consumer, and food products for its clients. The services offered might include warehousing, transportation, order picking, and special value-added services.

The building is designed with three distinct temperature zones- for products requiring storage temperatures between +2 and +7 degrees in the fresh food area, +12 and +18 degrees, or at room temperature.

The new warehouse, situated near DACHSER’s Leipzig/Halle Logistics Centre will offer access via the A9 and A14 motorways. Goods are transported from Landsberg across Germany and Europe, with Leipzig/Halle Airport approximately 25 km away.

The facility is being constructed to meet the latest safety and environmental standards, featuring a photovoltaic system on the roof, state-of-the-art technology, IT-based systems, driverless transport vehicles for full-pallet movements, LED lighting, and charging stations for trucks and employees’ electric cars. “By expanding our logistics centre with this new warehouse, we are boosting regional economic development and creating new jobs in the area,” says Matthias Ziegenhagen.
