DACHSER has inaugurated a new warehouse at its Dutch facility in Waddinxveen, near Rotterdam. The new 6,900-sq m warehouse can accommodate 10,000 pallets, increasing the site’s total capacity to 55,000 pallet spaces.
This is DACHSER‘s fourth building in Waddinxveen’s industrial area, which is located across from the contract logistics warehouse that opened in late 2020, and is directly linked to the logistics provider’s distribution network, with daily transport services to various parts of Europe.
The new facility comprises three halls, a value-added services area, two office spaces, and ample parking. The building features large windows to maximise natural light, and solar panels with a production capacity of 400 kWp have been installed on the roof. The office areas are heated using a heat pump, and both the offices and the halls are fully equipped with LED lighting.
Edwin Vermeulen, General Manager of DACHSER Waddinxveen, stated: “DACHSER opened its first branch in the western Netherlands in Waddinxveen in 2007. At that time, with just 3,000 square metres and 16 employees, no one could have foreseen that we would open our fourth logistics building here in 2024.”
The addition of the new warehouse boosts the total storage capacity in Waddinxveen to 55,000 pallet spaces. This expansion enables DACHSER to meet the rising demand for storage space.
