The Supervisory Board of Deutsche Post DHL Group has appointed Melanie Kreis as the Group’s new Chief Financial Officer. Kreis will succeed Lawrence A. Rosen, who is retiring on September 30, 2016.
Kreis began her career with McKinsey & Company in 1997, before moving to Apax Partners Private Equity. She joined Deutsche Post DHL in 2004, to focus on international M&A projects. Following the Group’s acquisition of Exel in 2005, she moved to Bracknell, UK, to lead the overall Logistics integration effort. Kreis was instrumental in planning and executing the sale of Postbank to Deutsche Bank. Prior to joining the Board, Melanie was CFO of DHL Express.
Since 2014, Kreis has been Member of the Board for Human Resources at the Group level, and will continue this role on an interim basis.
On Lawrence A. Rosen, Wulf von Schimmelmann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Deutsche Post DHL Group commented: “Larry Rosen very successfully implemented a long-term capital markets strategy and established truly world class finance processes and practices. As a result, Larry has made significant contributions to the market position of Deutsche Post DHL Group.”
On the company’s new CFO, Group CEO Frank Appel stated, “As an experienced leader with proven expertise in finance, including a broad range of management competencies, she [Kreis] will make an important contribution towards the successful execution of Strategy 2020.”
