With the strategic goals for 2025–2028, the Federal Council is confirming Swiss Post’s transformation, which is being successfully implemented with the “Swiss Post of tomorrow” strategy. Its core mandate remains a modern, self-financed universal service geared towards customer requirements. Swiss Post will continue to work consistently over the next four years to achieve the goals set by the Federal Council.

Swiss Post is consistently pursuing the path it set out on four years ago with its “Swiss Post of tomorrow” strategy. With its current strategic goals for 2025–2028, the Federal Council is reinforcing this focus. Christian Levrat, Chairman of the Swiss Post Board of Directors, explains: “The strategic goals set by the Federal Council are the basis for ensuring that Swiss Post can continue to fulfil its important mandate for Switzerland in the future. We want to maintain a strong, modern universal service for the whole of Switzerland and finance it ourselves. The key to this is placing the real needs of the general public at the heart of our actions and keeping pace with digitization. This will ensure that Swiss Post remains relevant.” Besides the strategic goals set by the Federal Council (in German), postal legislation also forms the basis for Swiss Post’s development. Both contain the key regulatory provisions.

With the commitment of its employees, Swiss Post makes everyday life easier for people and companies and brings Switzerland together every day:

  • It reliably ensures that letters, parcels and goods, as well as newspapers and advertising, arrive efficiently and safely. Letters can be received and sent digitally or physically, depending on customer requirements.
  • Swiss Post will continue to expand its leading position as a broad-based logistics services provider in the future – for Switzerland and across its borders.
  • With its digital letter box, connectable software solutions and cybersecurity services, Swiss Post gives people, companies and public authorities access to trustworthy digital communication.
  • With a strong branch network consisting of 2,000 staffed branches and numerous other access points such as terminals or the home service, Swiss Post remains close to customers wherever they are.
  • With environmentally friendly mobility and sustainable, flexible mobility solutions, Swiss Post transports commuters and passengers safely from A to B.
  • It remains the market leader in road-based public transport and is continuing to drive forward the transformation to e-mobility.
  • PostFinance provides customers with access to appropriate financial services and is also promoting cashless payment transactions

The “Swiss Post of tomorrow” strategy has been implemented since 2021. It is the answer to the major challenges facing Swiss Post, including declining letter volumes and over-the-counter transactions. Swiss Post presented the key points for the 2025–2028 strategy period in May 2024.
