FourKites debuted AI solutions at the Gartner Supply Chain Symposium that automate critical handoffs between transportation networks and warehouse operations. Alan, an AI-powered Digital Worker for scheduling, and AutoGate AI, a computer vision technology solution, integrate with the company’s Intelligent Control Tower to eliminate manual bottlenecks and transform the way facilities manage arrivals and departures.
Alan serves as a scheduling expert, handling the entire appointment lifecycle across all communication channels, including those outside of a scheduling system, like shipper emails, carrier updates, and receiver portals. AutoGate AI’s computer vision technology slashes check-in times from 10+ minutes to under 2 minutes, eliminating manual gate processes. Together, these solutions create a seamless flow between transportation and warehouse operations.
“While companies have invested billions in warehouse robotics and transportation systems, the yard remains a costly bottleneck where 92% of facilities still rely on clipboards and radios or legacy systems,” said Priya Rajagopalan, FourKites President of Product, Technology and Operations. “Our AI solutions eliminate this constraint by automating routine decisions 24/7, transforming yards from passive storage areas into active participants in supply chain orchestration.”
These new solutions enhance FourKites’ YardWorks suite of offerings, now known as Yardworks AI. Alan reduces scheduling team workload by 50% through intelligent automation, providing a single point of coordination across email, portals, and phone channels. As a Digital Worker, Alan operates 24/7 without breaks. AutoGate AI automates the check-in and check-out process by integrating with the FourKites platform to pre-populate gate records and validate information, delivering labor savings of $70,000 to $150,000 annually per facility.
The combination allows facilities to operate around the clock without additional staffing, potentially increasing throughput by 50% through extended operational hours.
“This represents a fundamental shift from visibility to orchestration,” said FourKites founder and CEO Mathew Elenjickal. “Traditional yard systems only track human decisions without making them. By automating these routine decisions, we’re freeing operations staff from administrative coordination to focus on exception handling and strategic improvement.”
Unlike systems requiring standardized processes, these solutions adapt to existing workflows and continuously learn while bridging disconnected systems.
With the addition of Digital Worker, Alan and AutoGate AI, key capabilities of YardWorks AI now include:
As part of FourKites’ Intelligent Control Tower, these solutions advance the company’s vision of an integrated supply chain where AI agents — including Digital Workers for track-and-trace, Tracy, and for supplier collaboration, Sam — computer vision, and other advanced features come together to automate and optimize performance across operations, providing end-to-end supply chain orchestration.
