Girteka, which manages its own truck fleet in Europe, condemns the Kremlin’s war in Ukraine and the violence against anyone. The company plans to continue its focus on business development in Europe and Scandinavia, separating its Eastern European operations and changing the geography of its transportation operations.
“Our focus now is on the health, safety, and income of the families of our colleagues. Furthermore, since the first day of aggression, we provide financial and other assistance to our colleagues, who were affected by this aggression,” says Edvardas Liachovičius, CEO of Girteka Holding.
The main activity of the group of companies – transportation of full loads in the EU and Scandinavia – already accounted for 80% of the company revenue in 2021. No changes are expected for this activity – it is planned to continue to successfully achieve the goal of being among the 10 largest logistics companies in Europe.
When the war broke out, the company suspended investment in Russia and did not provide services to companies that are under sanctions. In addition, part of the Eastern business will be separated from Girteka, and the independent business plans to focus on cargo transportation between other Asian countries (China, Kazakhstan, etc.) and Europe.
