Goodman develops new logistics centre for real,- Digital

real,- Digital Fulfillment GmbH is to open a new 12,000 sq m logistics centre at the Lutterberg Industrial Estate near Kassel, central Germany. real,- Digital will be the first customer to join the 20,800 sq m property which will be complete in June 2019.

As a subsidiary of the Metro Group, the German multi-channel LSP based in Cologne, Dusseldorf, Darmstadt and Mönchengladbach has business relationships across Europe.

Goodman is developing the property at the Lutterberg Industrial Estate, which is located 16 km from the Kassel city centre. It is close to the A7 motorway, connecting Lutterberg with Göttingen and Kassel. The route is an important traffic axis in the centre of Germany, and economic centres can be reached within a few hours via the A44 and A49 motorways.

The region around Kassel has become a popular location with the logistics industry due to its ability to provide short lead times to facilitate “overnight” delivery in Germany. The trans-shipment station at the Kassel-Süd motorway junction is only 17 km away from the property.

Christof Prange, Head of Business Development at Goodman Germany, said, “Logistics is one of the most high profile business sectors in Kassel, Staufenberg and the surrounding area due to the services available to provide overnight delivery. Customer demand is high, especially given rising expectations from consumers for faster product delivery. We are developing this high-quality, modern logistics property for real,-Digital with sustainability in mind and look forward to welcoming more customers soon to this location.”
