Hitachi Transport Systems report 2022 first quarter results

For the quarter ending June 30 2022, Hitachi Transport Systems has reported its 2022 first quarter results. The company reported revenue of ¥*199,452m, up 12% y-o-y. Operating income increased by 8.3% y-o-y to ¥11,084m, whilst EBIT increased 25.4% to ¥12,009m.

Revenues of domestic logistics business decreased by 2% y-o-y to ¥102,780m. Segment profit decreased by 22% y-o-y to ¥5,318m mainly due to the fire at one of Hitachi’s logistics centres.

Revenues of global logistics business increased by 33% y-o-y to ¥93,400m mainly due to contributions from the freight forwarding business, operation of new projects, and the effect of foreign exchange rate fluctuations. Segment profit increased by 73% y-o-y to ¥5,595m mainly due to an increase in revenues, improved profitability, and the effect of foreign exchange rate fluctuations.

Revenues of other services increased by 7% y-o-y to ¥3,27m. Segment profit decreased by 1% y-o-y to ¥171m.
