Knight-Swift’s first full-year revenues total $5.3bn

Knight-Swift Transportation has reported financial results for 2018, the first full year since its merger. Year-end revenues totalled $5,344m. It produced operating income of $569m and net income of $419m.

Swift Truckload was the largest business segment, generating revenues of $1,681m in the year. The next largest segments (in order) were Knight Trucking, Swift Refrigerated, Swift Dedicated, Swift Intermodal and Knight Logistics, which produced revenues of $1,144m, $819m, $646m, $470m and $334m respectively. All segments produced an operating profit in the year, with Knight Trucking producing the strongest margin at 18.3%. Swift Refrigerated had the weakest operating margin at 4.2%

In Q4, where financial results can be meaningfully compared year-over-year, revenues grew 2.6%. Operating income grew 43.8% year-over-year, or 42.0% on an adjusted basis.
