Kuehne+Nagel Expands Caribbean Presence with New Agents

Kuehne+Nagel

Kuehne+Nagel has appointed three new representative agents in Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, and Guyana, as part of its strategy to expand and strengthen its presence in the Caribbean, where it has been operating since 1994, with its regional headquarters located in Panama.

In Trinidad and Tobago, a country whose economy is largely dependent on oil and gas production, Gulf and Maritime Services Limited has been selected as the new agent.

For Barbados, which boasts strong sectors such as tourism, manufacturing, technology, and healthcare, Kuehne+Nagel has partnered with Eric Hassell Shipping Limited. This collaboration might enable Kuehne+Nagel to offer services such as freight forwarding, customs brokerage, bonded warehousing, and support for vessels and Non-vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC) agents.

In Guyana, Kuehne+Nagel has appointed Muneshwers Ltd as its new representative. Muneshwers, a family-owned business, offers air and sea logistics, customs brokerage, warehousing, inland transportation, and serves as a terminal operator for MSC. Guyana, one of the world’s fastest-growing economies with a GDP increase of 27% in 2023, is primarily driven by the energy sector.

Jan Trittin, Managing Director of Kuehne+Nagel’s Central America and Caribbean cluster, remarked: “Logistics services are crucial in the Caribbean, a region heavily reliant on imports for goods and raw materials. Reliable and cost-effective transportation is essential for maintaining economic activities. Collaborating with agents allows us to provide top-tier logistics services and expand our network for our customers.”
