LX Pantos acquires new facility in the U.S.

LX Pantos (CEO: Lee Yong-ho) has acquired a mega-sized logistics centre in the U.S. State of Georgia. By securing its own logistics infrastructure in this key Southeastern U.S. hub—home to numerous Korean manufacturers—LX Pantos aims to enhance Korea’s global supply chain competitiveness while reinforcing its presence in the U.S. market.

The signing ceremony was held on March 7 (local time) in Dalton, Georgia. The event was attended by LX Pantos CEO Lee Yong-ho and Korea Ocean Business Corporation (KOBC) Director of Business Operations Yoon Sang-ho, officials from the Georgia Department of Economic Development, and more than 30 key stakeholders.

The newly acquired facility is an ambient logistics centre featuring two buildings on a vast 304,769 ㎡ site—an area equivalent to 43 soccer fields.

The 120m USD acquisition was jointly financed under a public-private partnership between LX Pantos and KOBC. This investment aligns with the Korean government’s Global Strategic Logistics Hub Initiative, which seeks to expand self-owned logistics infrastructure for Korean logistics firms in key international markets. Given that Korean logistics providers typically lack proprietary overseas facilities, this initiative ensures long-term strategic asset security and enhances theirglobal competitiveness.

With the newly acquired facility, LX Pantos will scale up its U.S. logistics operations, optimizing supply chain stability and efficiency for key clients such as LG Electronics and Hanwha Qcells. Additionally, the company plans to actively pursue new business opportunities, targeting both Korean and global manufacturers.

Georgia is home to more than 140 Korean companies, including automotive and battery manufacturers, making it a strategic location for logistics operations. The logistics centre is expected to function as a key supply chain hub for Korean companies expanding in the U.S. market. Furthermore, as reshoring trends gain momentum among American manufacturers, the number of U.S. and global manufacturers in Georgia continues to grow, further reinforcing the centre’s strategic importance.

Georgia is rapidly emerging as a pivotal logistics hub in the United States, capitalizing on its well-established transportation infrastructure, which includes the Port of Savannah, the Appalachian Regional Port for rail freight, and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Dalton, where LX Pantos’s new logistics centre is located, is recognized as a pivotal node in the U.S. supply chain, linking the Southern and Mideastern regions. Its prime location enables highly efficient multimodal logistics operations, facilitating nationwide deliveries within one to two days, as road and rail networks in the area are seamlessly integrated. Additionally, the Port of Savannah, one of the top four container ports in the U.S., has recorded the highest growth rate among comparably sized ports, further enhancing regional logistics competitiveness.

As part of its global expansion strategy, LX Pantos has been aggressively scaling its footprint in the U.S. logistics market. Recently, the company established Boxlinks, a joint venture with Ocean Network Express (ONE), the world’s sixth-largest shipping carrier, marking its strategic entry into the U.S. intermodal sector.

* Intermodal refers to an integrated transportation network that connects rail and truck transport.

Commenting on this hugely meaningful signing, LX Pantos CEO Lee Yong-ho said, “The acquisition of this mega-sized logistics facility represents a milestone in the expansion of LX Pantos across North America. By securing self-operated logistics assets, we will reinforce our end-to-end supply chain solutions, enhance operational resilience, and expand our client portfolio across key industrial sectors, such as automotive, battery, and solar energy. Through differentiated logistics services, we aim to further strengthen our position in the U.S. market.”
