Rhenus Warehousing Solutions UK has celebrated the roof being installed on the second warehouse at its major new development at Baytree, Nuneaton, with developer Baytree Logistics Developments.
The brand-new sustainable development, known as the ‘Rhenus Campus’, will be home to two warehouses, totalling one million sq ft – the equivalent of 36 football pitches.
The second warehouse is the bigger one of the two distribution centres (DC’S) and measures 771,000 sq ft. The first warehouse, measuring 210,000 sq ft, had its roof installed in October 2022.
The campus aims to serve customers in a range of sectors, including fashion and apparel, health and beauty, toys, homeware and consumer goods, with warehousing and distribution needs. Rhenus aims to provide efficient storage, B2B and B2C order fulfilment, value-added services and comprehensive returns management using the latest technology.
The ‘Rhenus Campus’ will also have a particular focus on environmental and social elements, using renewable energy generated on-site, helping customers to achieve their own net zero goals and ensuring the development is climate neutral.
Kerry Delaney, Regional Managing Director North-West Europe at Rhenus Warehousing Solutions UK, said: “We are very proud to have celebrated another major milestone at our ‘Rhenus Campus’. It’s a hugely exciting time for us at Rhenus now that the second warehouse’s structure has been completed, and we’re looking forward to officially opening the campus later this year. This development will enable us to easily meet growing demand, exceed our customers’ expectations and help us positively impact the environment – something which is very close to our hearts.”
Amit Babbar, UK Development Director at Baytree, said: “This is another major milestone for one of the leading ESG focused developments in the industrial and logistics sector. Baytree are very proud to support Rhenus in achieving outstanding environmental and social performance at the new Rhenus Campus.”
