Rhenus Warehousing Solutions Netherlands and Starnus Technology  have entered into a partnership, to integrate Starnus’ Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) technology with Rhenus’ logistics services.

The use of AMR enables a flexible adaptability to peak season, due to ease of deployment for new customers in addition to extra robots not being needed for existing customers.  As the solution is modular, it aims to ease the repairs, replacement and reuse of components and debugging.

The hardware and software developed by Starnus aims to allow the AMR to be fully customised for payload capacity, size, and type of cargo (e.g. pallet, single parcels, etc.).

The unique hardware and software developed by Starnus allows the AMR to be fully customized and adaptive in three main features, payload capacity, size, and type of cargo (e.g. pallet, single parcels, etc.). The robots are designed to work on a plug and play basis. The software aims to recognise the  changes in the hardware and reconfigure respectfully.

The partnership will consist of different phases including design & build, prototype testing and a pilot phase whereby the robots will be taken into operation at the Rhenus Tilburg location.

“We joined the Technical University of Eindhoven innovation eco-system offering us the opportunity to get in contact with start-ups including Starnus. This partnership can offer Rhenus a custom-made AMR design based on our specific needs for features, size, and capacity. We believe that through this partnership we can create a robot that meets and exceeds the needs of any 3PL company,” says Markus Simons, Managing Director for Rhenus Warehousing Solutions.

“In the startup ecosystem, we need powerful partners that dare to be part of outstanding disruptions to the logistics industry, and Rhenus is the right partner for our AMR tech. We are delighted to have Rhenus beside us in realizing this ambition, and our technology will not only bring a unique solution to the market, but will redefine its future too,” says Khashayar Mansourizadeh, Chief Executive Officer for Starnus Technology.
