Sagawa Express releases parcel numbers for December 2022

SG Holdings Co., Ltd., the parent of Sagawa Express, has recently released its December 2022 figures for the number of packages handled in its Delivery Business. The overall numbers show a decrease of 2.5% year-over-year, with a total of 137 million packages handled. Additionally, the cumulative total for the fiscal year 2023/3 is 1,076 million, representing a slight increase of 0.2%.

The breakdown of these numbers shows that the majority of packages handled were through the company’s Hikyaku Express service, which saw 132 million packages handled and a decrease of 2.4% from the previous year. The remaining 4 million packages were handled through other services, such as Hikyaku Large Size Express and other companies, and saw a decrease of 7.1% from the previous year.

It’s worth noting that these figures are based on preliminary results and are subject to change in accordance with the actual results. Additionally, the total number of packages handled has been rounded down to the nearest million and the change percentage has been rounded to one decimal place.

In comparison, the figures for November 2022, which were announced on December 8, 2022, show a similar trend. The total number of packages handled in November was 123 million, representing a decrease of 1.8%. The Hikyaku Express service handled 119 million packages, a decrease of 1.6%. Meanwhile, the other services saw a decrease of 7.5% in the number of packages handled.
