The new Murcia branch completes the group’s positioning in the southeast region of the Spanish mainland. It will also play a central role in the operations of Rhenus in this province, which has healthy demand. The new facility is located in Molina de Segura and covers an area of 3,500 sqm , including a 2,000 sqm warehouse and a 1,500 sqm yard.
“The opening of this new branch is a natural step in the company’s growth strategy in Spain. It allows us to offer our customers better coverage and responsiveness in Murcia, which is a region that is consolidating as one of Spain’s most important logistics hubs, thanks to its unique geostrategic location with an important infrastructure network and an increasingly competitive business and productive fabric,” says Elvira Segur, Manager of Rhenus Logistics Murcia and Alicante.
The region’s commercial activity is primarily linked to agricultural and food production and the diversification of its economy, as demonstrated by the boom in exports of industrial goods and technology.
Rhenus Home Delivery Spain, aims to utilise the branch to shorten delivery times, introduce a daily transport frequency to the Levante region and to deliver, assemble and install bulky products.
With this opening, the group is consolidating the Road Freight business unit branch network in Spain and Portugal and Rhenus Home Delivery’s leading position in the home delivery segment on the Iberian Peninsula.
