Toll Group announced the expansion of its footprint in the Indian Subcontinent with the acquisition of Cross Freight Limited to establish a joint venture, Toll Bangladesh Limited. Operations will commence on 1 June 2024.
Toll Group has operated in Bangladesh since 2011, working with local partners. Establishing a direct presence in Bangladesh creates more value for Bangladeshi businesses that will gain access to Toll’s global network and expertise as they grow beyond the country.
The office is in Dhaka, Bangladesh, with airfreight and ocean freight operations in Dhaka and Chittagong.
Milan Samath has been appointed Vice President for Toll Bangladesh. Based in Dhaka, he will be responsible for the team’s go-to-market efforts and developing its capabilities to fulfil customers’ future logistical needs.
William Sim, Executive Vice President Asia, Toll Global Forwarding, said, “Bangladesh is growing rapidly and attracting significant investment, particularly in the garment industry. We expect to double our volume throughput in Bangladesh over the next two years. The joint venture underscores Toll’s commitment to supporting our customers in the region.”
