XPO Logistics has renewed its medical supplies distribution contract with B. Braun, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of healthcare products.
XPO will manage the distribution of approximately 5,000 medical products and devices to hospitals, dialysis centres, clinics and care homes to support the treatment of thousands of patients across France. Distribution will take place from XPO’s site in Nancy. Nearly 17,000 shipments were completed in 2016.
Goods are tracked using a new technology recently designed by the two companies to control temperatures during storage and transport. New data loggers have been installed in delivery vehicles, enabling XPO to remotely locate and check the temperature of the goods in transit.
