Yusen Logistics has opened a new branch in Altbach with around 10,000 sq m of warehouse and office space. The logistics centre east of Stuttgart will become the new contract logistics site of Yusen Logistics.
The new warehouse and distribution centre is located near the federal road B10, in a region that is continuously developing into an important logistics hub for light industry. Furthermore, the region around Stuttgart is stated as holding a leading position throughout Europe in the automotive, electronics and information technology sectors as well as in engineering industry, with many large- and small-scale international enterprises having their headquarters located there. By moving into the modern building complex, Yusen Logistics aims to meet the needs of its customers, most of whom are from the local automotive industry.
The facility with a considerably large storage area, equipped with high racks, is said to provide Yusen Logistics and its customers with plenty of space and further opportunities for expansion. Yusen Logistics states that the logistics complex in Altbach combines the most modern constructional and technical standards with multifunctionality. The loading halls of Yusen Logistics have truck passages for side loading and unloading as well as ground-level access roads.
The new contract logistics location in Altbach is the eleventh branch of Yusen Logistics Germany nationwide and the fourth in the southern region of Germany. Three other southern locations are in Alzenau, Bavaria, where a centre for distribution, domestic transport and customs clearance is, in Filderstadt near Stuttgart, where the air freight team operates, and in Schwaig near Munich, where Yusen Logistics handles air, sea and land freight. The distribution centre in Altbach is part of Yusen Logistics’ global contract logistics network, which consists of more than 355 warehouses and covers an area of 2,626,481 sq m.
